Artist Profile: Photographer, Peter Grimaldi

A longstanding member of the Eden Mills community, photographer Peter Grimaldi has been a neighbourhood leader when it comes to the Arts and an ever popular photographer.  His unique eye is able to capture the beauty of tiny moments in everyday life. Things we may otherwise miss, Peter brings to the forefront in a provocative and enriching light.

Recently Peter was announced as the winner of Wellington County Museums and Archives' Insights: Juried Exhibition  in the Photography division for Tats Girl.  We are pleased to have some of Peter's newest works now on sale at the Gallery.

Adventures in Art...

As we tour the Ontario countryside, we will provide you with information about other exciting places and events that may be of interests to you.

Recently we went to Burnstown which is on the Madawaska River west of Ottawa.  Here, in this ancient (1820's) little logging village we found several wonderful Galleries, studios and two quaint places to eat and linger.  The Autumn day was beautiful and we were warmly welcomed wherever we went.  In particular we spoke briefly to Karen Phillips-Curran, National Arts Centre's..(follow this link to read more about Michael's Adventure in Art...)

Things to do near Eden Mills

Rockwood is just 5 minutes from Eden Mills and hosts many places to eat and shop. We recommend Heaven on Seven for a wonderful meal and the Rockwood Conservation Area for camping, swimming and a walk through history on the Eramosa River which has powered many mid 1800's mills.  The Eramosa River is well fished and boated. Kayak and canoe runs are particularly invigorating during the spring runoff.  There are many walking trails in the area which are good for the soul and your dog. Moffat, just moments away, is the site of Dar’s Bakery which you will not want to miss.

Eden Mills has over 20 artists studios most of which are open by appointment or chance.  Several of Eden's artists have their work at In a Heartbeat
